If you are traveling to Seoul and you plan to visit various Kdrama filming locations, then head to Dongdaemun Design Plaza (동대문디자인플라자) or DDP. It is the most iconic landmark of the Korean design industry in the city. Dongdaemun Design Plaza has staged diverse cultural events including exhibitions, fashion shows, product launch shows, forums, conferences and various cultural events. Here are the key Korean drama filming spots at DDP.
Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DPP)
The Dongdaemun Design Plaza has the slogan ‘Dream, Design, Play’ as it houses halls and multipurpose cultural space where you can dream, design and play. It is by world renowned architect, Zaha Hadid. DDP has five halls namely: Art Hall, Museum, Design Lab, Design Market, and Dongdaemun History and Culture Park. The Art Hall is the primary caters to the Korean creative industry. While the Museum Hall brings together Korean design and global trends. On the other hand, the Design Lab serves as an incubator for rising Korean and international creative product designers. And lastly, the Design Market is a multipurpose space that combines culture, experiences and shopping.
Events and Exhibitions
There are a lot of exhibitions and events that are being held at Dongdaemun Design Plaza. It includes the Seoul Architecture Festival, Paik Nam June Show, HERA Seoul Fashion Week, Farmers Market, and many more.
Aside from events and exhibitions, there are also art installations that you can find inside the DDP. Moreover, there are even piano placed in different areas within the plaza where you can play. Some pianost and keyboardist would sit on these piano and play a good melody that you can hear all over the place.
DDP LED Rose Garden
Furthermore, there also used to be a LED Rose Garden at Dongdaemun Design Plaza. It consist of over 25,000 LED roses that lights up the plaza at night.
Many Korean dramas and video commercials were filmed in this area just like the series “My First First Love” and “The Producers”.
Also, top Hallyu actor Gong Yoo filmed one of his endorsements for a phone brand there. However, the exhibition already ended in April 2019.

Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Bus Stop
Another Kdrama filming location near Dongdaemun Design Plaza is the Dongdaemun History & Culture Park (동대문역사문화공원 정류장) Bus Stop. It is located right at DDP. The Kdrama “Devilish Joy” featuerd this bus stop in the episode 3 of the series.

Dongdaemun History & Culture Park (DDP) Station
In addition, to get to DDP, you will have to get off at Dongdaemun History & Culture Park (DDP) Station (동대문역사문화공원역). The 2007 Kdrama “Dalja’s Spring” starring actors Cha Rim and Lee Min-Ki featured this subway station on the 3rd episode of the series.
