The Seoul Metropolitan Government (SMG) is operating a pilot pet zone from March to April for citizens to enjoy spring while resting and exercising at Yeouido Hangang Park with their dogs.
The city will operate the pet zone by opening the swimming pool at Yeouido Hangang Park, which is generally open only during summer, from 10 AM to 5 PM (closed Mondays and rainy days) starting on Thu, Mar. 2 until the end of April. Visitors will be able to play in the pet zone with their dogs only if their dogs have proper dog tags (i.e. animal registration). Visitors are advised to note that the pet zone may be changed to a reservation system if there are too many users.
Expert pet trainers will be stationed at the pet zone to not only manage the facilities but also conducts various programs for the dogs to enjoy great play experiences to hone their agility skills and for the pet owners to take special photos while playing with their dogs and learning about their behaviors.
Seoul expects to get great use out of the temporary facility site as a special pet zone during the pilot operation where visitors can enjoy a pleasant experience in a safe park environment where animals and citizens can be happy together.
