Dadaepo Beach: A Must-Visit Busan Destination for ARMY

Annyeong ARMY! First off, I would like to start by welcoming everyone to this wonderful dynamic city: Busan! Busan has been my home for the past year and a half. As a result, I have had the opportunity to travel to many of the BTS ARMY destinations in the city. However, out of all of them, my favorite is Dadaepo beach!

Introduction

This is the first in a multi-part series where I will introduce you all to some of my and BTS’s favorite places to visit when in Busan. I promise you won’t regret visiting these places. Let’s go! or as we say here in Korea, Gacha! (가자!)

Why Dadaepo Beach?

Personally, Dadaepo Beach is one of my favorite beaches in Busan. I always like to say, every beach in Busan has its own vibe. While Haeundae and Gwangalli Beach are popular sites for good reasons, Dadaepo is a bit less crowded than all the other beaches and just as great. It is particularly beautiful at sunrise and sunset.

But, there is another reason to love Dadaepo Beach. This is one of Jimin’s favorite places to visit whenever he is in Busan. Back in 2016, he did a quick vlog on this very beach. In it, he talked about how much he loves this beach.

Pro Tips for Visiting Dadaepo Beach

When visiting, be sure to bring some comfy walking shoes. There is also a trail where you can walk come and enjoy the Dadaepo Beach Park which was built in 2015. If you are a fan of lovely nature walks, this is a must-visit trail.

Additionally, this beach is fully equipped! There are various facilities that will make your experience much more convenient. You can find washrooms, showers, and parking lots, as well as, lawn plazas, streams, and sports facilities. There’s something for everyone to do!

Dadaepo Sunset Fountain of Dreams

While you are here, be sure to check out the Dadaepo Sunset Fountain of Dreams. It is the first musical fountain in Busan. It opened on March 27, 2010, and it runs from April to October every year.

There have been many shows in the past where the fountain lights up purple and BTS Songs start playing. Personally, I’ve gone a couple of times and the atmosphere is unmatched. I suspect that they will be hosting some amazing fountain shows over the course of BTS’s visit to the city.

According to the Saha.go.kr site this fountain “… is the largest in the world with an area of 7,731㎡, a circular diameter of 60m, a circumference of 180m, a fountain floor area of 2,519㎡, and a maximum water height of 55m. It was listed as the ‘World’s Largest Floor Fountain’ in the Guinness World Records.” That’s quite impressive!

I would also recommend bringing a jacket as it is cold in Busan these days, I hope you enjoy it!! And stay tuned for the next article in the series.
