A Congolese immigrant to Korea has been appointed as a goodwill ambassador for the Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education. Jonathan is a broadcaster and regular TV personality that has gained a large following among the Korean public. Incheon Superintendent of Education, Do Sung-hoon personally appointed broadcaster Jonathan as the new ambassador for the Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education in 2023.
Born in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Jonathan moved to South Korea as a young child. He entered Incheon Yongjeong Elementary School and attended the until the sixth grade.
Currently, the 23-year-old is majoring in political diplomacy at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. He gained popularity by appearing in broadcasting programs such as <Radio Star> <Omniscient Interfering View> <Uquiz on the Block> and <History of the naked world> and actively communicates with 760,000 subscribers through his YouTube channel.
Jonathan, the new ambassador, will actively engage in public interest campaigns for the Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education. Jonathan’s campaigns will be introduced through the Office of Education’s official YouTube channel and social media.
Jonathan said, “Incheon is a place where I have a lot of memories and I think of it fondly” adding, “I sincerely thank you for appointing me as a goodwill ambassador for the Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education. As the face of the Office of Education, I hope we can work well together on various public interest campaigns while being careful not to become a nuisance”.
Superintendent Do Sung-hoon said, “Thank you for accepting to take the lead in actively promoting Incheon education,” adding, “We will create an education system in Incehon that embraces the world, and an education system that embraces Incheon alongside Johnathan.”
