Daejeon is quite famous among Koreans for … being a boring city that has absolutely nothing to do. But as an ex-pat living in Daejeon for the past few years, I will introduce a few interesting spots that are perfect for enjoying Christmas in Daejeon this year!
Making Christmas Candles
This place is recommended as it is a unique date spot to visit with your friends/lover at the end of the year! This candle shop is a great place to do indoor activities in this cold weather.
There’s a huge variety of products and materials inside for you to freely create your own version of a Christmas candle. Together with the candle-making materials, there are many beautiful candles on display for inspiration! It’s full of fragrant scents inside the class. The smell is very relaxing.
This place is conducting classes to teach you the basic steps to making your own candle. There are many one-day classes for you to choose from. But, you need to make a reservation before coming as the shop needs to check on materials and there is a maximum capacity.
This place is not only for making candles and conducting classes, they also sell pre-made candles and other variety of products. Moreover, it’s a coffee shop with a room, so the atmosphere is good. The vibe here is very relaxing as you have candles shining softly and a fragrant smell spreads all over the room.
Classes are available on Christmas day, but you should make a reservation in advance as this time is the peak season for candle making.

Coffee & Dessert at Holy Cross
The Holy Cross is located in Dunsan-dong, Daejeon. It has been in operation for such a long time – 10 years! So, it has many reviews from visitors and is also considered to be a Daejeon Christmas tree attraction.
Every year during the Christmas season, the store is decorated with a large tree in the center of the store. And, along with the classic moody brick interior, colorful lights and Christmas decorations are embroidered between the ceilings to stimulate the senses.
Holy Cross sells a variety of coffees, frappes, waffles, and handmade burgers to make the year-end atmosphere even warmer. If you want to fully enjoy the year-end atmosphere while enjoying hot coffee and dessert, I recommend you visit Holy Cross.

Enjoy Christmas Shopping at Daejeon Hyundai Premium Outlet
One of the must-go attractions during this Christmas season is the Hyundai Premium Outlet located in Yuseong-gu, Daejeon. As splendid, large-scale Christmas decorations in department stores become a hot topic every year, it is an indispensable place for year-end Instagram pics. Hyundai Premium Outlet creates a splendid year-end atmosphere with tens of thousands of LEDs on a large 8.5m high media tree that combines music and video under the theme of ‘Wonderland Winter Village’ on the central plaza on the first floor. Lighting is installed everywhere to give a more dramatic atmosphere.
It is recommended to participate in fun events and enjoy the splendid blue and gold colored media tree here at Hyundai Outlet.
