Cafe Scène: The IT Place in Seongsu-Dong

Scène (쎈느) is described as a “multi-cultural space based in Seoul”, according to the company’s official Instagram page. It is located in Seoul’s Seongsu neighborhood, also known as the Brooklyn of Seoul. The building consists of a cafe on the first floor (Scène Kitchen) and a concept store on the second, which sells items like homeware.

Cafe

The cafe offers a variety of beautiful drinks starting with the basic and ultimate favorites – espresso, Americano, and Latte essentials. As well as specialty drinks like Tiramisu Latte, Caramel Latte, and even Orange Latte made with organic Orange syrup~

cafe blends type

For coffee, they offer you a choice between two coffee blends: Sweet Low and Nero Brown. The first one is a blend from Ethiopia with a note of fresh green apple, the sweetness of ripe grapes, and the scent of white wine. The latter is a blend from Ethiopia and Guatemala which has the Aroma of roasted Almonds, the sweetness of honey, and the taste of cacao nibs with a low acidity and good balance.

They have two signature drinks on their menu: Coffee Scene, as the cafe’s name which is the combination of Organic orange syrup and espresso, interesting huh? They also have their very own Scene 09 Cold Brew.

Deserts

Nothing better to go with your coffee than sweets! And this cafe has plenty of desserts to satisfy everyone. As soon as you open the door, you are welcomed by a buffet of cookies, scones, and cakes of all kinds.

Brunch

The cafe also has a brunch menu. They have open sandwiches such as the Truffle Egg open sandwich and the Kale Seafood open sandwich. Surprisingly, it was my first time seeing Kale on the menu in Korea.

Moving on to Toast, you can have berry french toast or Snow Monte Cristo (I had to google it cause I had no idea what it looks like, saving you the hassle with a picture here).

MONTE CRISTO SANDWICH IS A QUICK AND EASY SANDWICH WITH HAM, TURKEY AND SWISS SLICES, DIPPED IN AN EGG/MILK MIXTURE AND FRIED TO A GOLDEN BROWN

And on the side, you can have Truffle french fries or Arco Pumpkin soup ~

Please note that their menu changes frequently, you can refer to their Instagram page for the updated menu!

4. Concept store

Now to the fun part! The cafe features a concept store on the second floor with an exhibition of art and objects as well as fashion items that are exposed and ready for sale!

Overall, I would say the place is interesting to visit. However, it gets easily packed and people line up to take pictures with the giant fashion items exposed. Although the place strictly prohibited commercial pictures, many come there for that purpose which can be bothersome. On another note, the cafe is of really good quality and so is the food!
