Cafe 6kyo is a one-of-a-kind cafe located in Gimhae, South Korea. It is an adorable little coffee shop nestled along the edge of Yeonji Park. Not only do they serve great coffee and baked goods, but they also serve up a cozy atmosphere with distinct, Harry Potter vibes. Any lover of books and antiquities is sure to love this cafe!
Introduction
As spring recently sprung, the cafe is the perfect spot to rest after a day enjoying the beautiful weather. After wandering around in the nearby Yeonji Park, I came across this intriguing little cafe before heading home.
The place looks like something straight out of Harry Potter. Are you in Gimhae? Or Hogsmeade? The brick exterior and mish-mosh of British-style decor made it the perfect backdrop for fans of the wizarding world to come and enjoy their evenings.
6Kyo First Impressions
From the outside to the inside, the decoration is on point. However, the first thing that caught my attention was the wonderful decorations and lightning visible from the window. There are quite a lot of beautiful cafรฉs around, but the peak I got from the window convinced me to enter!
As I wandered further into the cafe I was left speechless by the decor. It was decorated like an antique library with extensive details. There were Victorian-style paintings, books, and best of all โ a dazzling assortment of porcelain cups.
However, what surprised me the most was the huge bookcase that covered the entire wall andโฆ it was actually a secret door! If you push the center of the bookcase, it reveals an additional room in the cafe. It was something that I had only seen in the movies!
The 6kyo latte is the Signature menu item. They also offer a variety of cakes and desserts such as Oreo Cream Cheesecake, Tiramisu Cake, Ice Cream Croissant, etc.
I had a Coconut Coffee since I really love that combination of flavors! Instead of ice, it had a semi-frozen ball of coconut cream in the middle of the coffee. After mixing it with the coffee, it took on a really nice taste. In addition, since the latte did not have ice, it didnโt become watery taste as time passed. In fact, the sweet taste of coconut only got stronger.
For dessert, I ordered Honey Butter Bread. The bread was warm and toasted to perfection! The mixture between the honey and the butter was really good. It was already cut into nine pieces (even though we did have to cut it a bit more), so it is comfortable to eat too.
I paid 6,000 won for the Coconut Coffee and 6,000 for the Honey Butter Bread. Pretty average pricing! It was well worth it considering the unique atmosphere.
My experience
I found the prices to be really reasonable. It is no secret to those who love visiting beautiful cafes in South Korea that the prices are sometimes very high! I think that the prices were okay for the taste and the quantity.
The music was also nice and matched the atmosphere perfectly. Plus, the location is also really good, you can definitely make a day of exploring the area.
I would definitely recommend visiting this cafรฉ if you are in Gimhae, especially in the Yeonji Park area!
