Busan night market

Night market where we can find handicraft things or delicious food is always a favorite place whenever we travel. If you visit Busan, I suggest BIFF, Bupyeong night market, Seomyeon street and The Bay 101 as should-go place at night. There are a lot of yummy food and so many interesting things at those four places and of course each place has its own attractive points. Let’s see what I have discovered at those four places.

BIFF

Busan International Film Festival(BIFF) square is a newly transformed district that promote the advancement of Korea’s film industry.

At night, there are so many street food tents here that sell some kinds of popular Korea street food such as tteokbokki, dakkochi (chicken sewer).

Tteokbokki

This square is not really big but it’s so close to so many markets in Busan such as Bupyeong night market, Gukje market (international market) and Jalgalchi market (seafood market) and moreover there are so many fashion and cosmetic stores around this area so if you also want to go shopping, you can pass by.

Address: 4, Nampo-gil, Jung-gu, Busan 부산광역시 중구 남포길 4 (남포동3가)
How to come: [Subway] Jagalchi Station (Busan Subway Line 1), Exit 7.

5 min walk from the station (Walk straight and turn left)

Bupyeong Night Market

Bupyeong night market or Kkangtong night market with variety of yummy food is really a must-go place to street food lovers. You should prepare your stomach before coming here.

Not only Korea street food, there are also the other country’s food such as Vietnamese food, Japanese food, …

Vietnamese spring rolls

If you come here on weekend there will be so many people that it may a bit hard to walk and sometimes you will need to line up to wait for food.

TIP: You’d better prepare cash in small denominations (1,000 won and 10,000 won) because you only can use cash here. Food price are from 2,000 won to 10,000 won so it’s easier and fast if you have cash in small denominations.

That is inside Bupyeong market. Inside, it’s a street food paradise but outside of the market is another food heaven with so many small BBQ restaurants, pubs and also food tents. If you like drinking and bbq you can check this area.

How to come: (by subway) Jagalchi Station exit 3

Seomyeon street

There are cafe streets and shopping streets in this area. Seomyeon shopping street is like the other shopping areas that have various cosmetic and fashion stores or coffee shops chains.

Compare with Seomyeon shopping street, I prefer Seomyeon café street. This coffee area is really amazing with so many unique and nice coffee shops. Not like famous coffee shop chains, each of coffee shop here has its own design, its own theme and flavor. Even though you walk on the street you can feel coffee aroma.

There is no street food here but there are so many handicraft accessories and coffee tents on the street. At coffee and cake tents, they also have some pieces of cake or little paper cup of coffee for you to try.

If you are lucky, you may catch a very vibrant street performance.
