Since Seoul began hosting its international fashion show at the DDP, Koreans have had a reputation for dressing to kill. From the K-Pop idol outfits that exude luxury to the unique street fashion, you’d think Korea is too expensive right? Wrong. Korea has plenty of affordable stores where you can find the perfect fit on a budget. Keeping up with trends has never been easier! Let’s take a look at some of the places you can go budget shopping in Seoul.
1. Express Bus Terminal Shopping Center
What better way is there to start than with the best? Express Bus Terminal is my absolute favourite. Both by price and by clothing quality.
There are 100s of stores in this underground mall. In fact, if you want to get a look at everything, you’ll need to put aside an entire day just to search. What’s more, you can find everything from clothing to accessories, even decor and house plants!
Express Bus Terminal Shopping Center (Goto Mall) Address: Floor B1 194 Sinbanpo-ro, Seocho-gu, Seoul Operating Hours: 10:00am - 10:00pm everyday Directions: Express Bus Terminal Station (Subway Line 3, 7, 9 - Express, All stop) Exit 8-1
2. Ewha Women’s University Shopping Street
What I love most about the Ewha University area is that it is almost 100% targeted at young adult women. Therefore, you don’t have to navigate your way through the men’s or old-women’s section of the stores. All of the latest fashion trends will be right there in the window or on the street, waiting for you to look through.
Additionally, as the area frequented by students, the price tags are made to match the typical student budget — which is not a lot. You’ll find yourself coming away with an entire outfit for the price of just one garment from a mainstream store!

Address: Ewhayeodae 1-gil, Seodaemun-gu, Seoul
Directions: Ewha University Station (Subway Line 2) Exit 1-2
3. Hongik University Street
Seoul’s hub of the Korean street style. Both native Koreans and foreigners alike know the Hongdae area like the back of their hand. As well as the mainstream brands, you can find a whole range of unique clothing here, whether you want to follow trends or not. In fact, Hongdae is famous for its number of vintage clothing stores. Therefore, if you’re looking to own an item that nobody else has, have a browse here.
Additionally, when you’re finished, you can enjoy some great food and a busking performance.
Hongik University Street Address: 20 Hongik-ro, Mapo-gu, Seoul Directions: Hongik University Station (Subway Line 2, Airport Railroad, Gyeongui Jungang) Exit 8
4. Dongdaemun Shopping Complex
Another great place for cheap bargains but good quality. The best part about Dongdaemun is that each seller is independent. Therefore, you can bargain with them to get a good price. Additionally, Dongdaemun is the best place to find designer outlets.
Dongdaemun Shopping Complex Address: 266 Jong-ro, Jongno-gu, Seoul Operating Hours: 8:00am - 6:00pm Tues ~ Sun, closed Mon Directions: Dongdaemun Station (Subway Line 1, 4) Exit 9
5. Myeongdong Shopping Street
If you want to make a day out of a shopping, make no mistake. Go to Myeongdong. Not only can you peruse your favourite mainstream brands for inspo, like 8seconds and ZARA, but you can snatch up some bargains too. Furthermore, what better to pair with a shopping trip than delicious street food? Hotdogs, tteokbokki, ice cream that reaches the sky, anyone?
Myeongdong Shopping Street
Address: Myeongdong-gil, Myeong-dong 1-ga, Jung-gu, Seoul
Directions: Myeongdong Station (Subway Line 4) Exit 8
6. Gangnam Station Shopping Center
Last but certainly not least, Gangnam Station. If you’ve been to Gangnam, you probably know about this place already. The underground mall is the perfect place to pick up affordable jewellery, clothes and adorable PJs! Nowhere jumps faster on a new fashion trend than the sellers at Gangnam Station. However, due to the constant flux of visitors, this shopping center is a tad more expensive than others in Korea.
Gangnam Station Shopping Center Address: Floor B1, 396 Gangnamdae-ro, Gangnam-gu, Seoul Operating Hours: 10:00am - 10:00pm everyday Directions: Gangnam Station (Subway Line 2, Shinbundang)
