Best Locations to Enjoy the Han River View

When touring Seoul, you should never miss visiting the Han River. The Han River, also known as Hangang, flows alongside the best parks, sights, and attractions in Seoul. All year-round, you can spot many locals and visitors walking, jogging, running, biking, picnicking, or just enjoying the amazing view of the Han River. The famous Hangang Park is located just beside the Hangang. Hangang Park is consists of 12 parks, namely Banpo Park, Gwangnaru Park, Gangseo Park, Ichon park, Jamsil Park, Jamwon Park, Mangwon Park, Nanji Park, Seonyudo Park, Ttukseon Park, Yanghwa Park, and Yeouido Park. For me, here are the best locations to enjoy the Han River view.

Yeouido Hangang Park

One of the most popular parks along Hangang River is the Yeouido Park. The park offers several exciting events throughout the year. In Spring, they have Yeouido Cherry Blossom Festival while in Autumn, they host the World Fireworks Festival, as well as marathons, various performances, and concerts, which attracts a lot of visitors and ordinary citizens.

I SEOUL U

The Yeouido Hangang Park has the largest “I SEOUL U” mark in the city if I am not mistaken. Signs like this are scattered around the city, but this is the largest I’ve seen so far. So if you’re searching for a nice spot to take photos for your Instagram post, this is the perfect one.

Han River Cruise (Eland Cruise)

Also, in Yeouido Hangang Park, you can take a Han River Cruise (Eland Cruise) here. Eland Cruise runs within Seoul from east to west. There are two ferry terminals, in Yeouido and Jamsil, that offer river cruise programs. Enjoy a stunning view of Hangang River in the daytime, watch fireworks display at night and, spend a romantic cruise experience in the beautiful city of Seoul. You can enjoy here the enchanting beautiful view of Seoul in the most romantic way.

If you want to experience this, head to the Eland Cruise ticket office and get your cruise on. The ticket price varies depending on the program you want to experience. For the Story Cruise, it costs 14,000 Korean Won, Moonlight Cruise costs 19,000 Korean won and, the River Music Cruise costs 25,700 Korean Won. These programs operate every day. You can also book a ticket through Klook, and you will get some discounts, too.

Exploring Yeouido Hangang Park by bicycle is also a great way to enjoy the garden, the trees, and the Han river view.

Directions to the Park:

The Yeouido Hangang park is very accessible by public transportation such as buses and subway. Take Seoul Subway Line 5 to Yeouinaru Station and exit via Exit 2 or 3.

Mangwon Han River Park

Mangwon Han River Park is also one of Hangang Riverside Parks. It is not the biggest park, and not that crowded compare to Yeouido Hangang Park. It offers wide, open views and scenic walking paths, equipped with different public recreational facilities like a roller skating rink, swimming pool, volleyball field, soccer field, tennis court, baseball field, basketball court, and more. You can easily rent a bike here and ride around the entire area, or you can just take a walk, have a picnic, and relax with the scenic view ahead of you. From here, you can get a great picture of the Seongsan Bridge. It is the 12th bridge, an orange one, that crosses the Han River and connects the districts of Yeongdeungpo District and Mapo District.

I had a great time hanging out in these parks. It was a super good place to roam around and an amazing place to just chill and relax. It’s a perfect spot to enjoy the striking view of the Han River, as well as the magnificent view of the city.
