If you’ve been in Korea for a while, I’m sure you’ve visited your fair share of coffee shops. Although all coffee shops serve the same purpose of preparing coffee, the experience is what differentiates them. Here are a few coffee cafes that sell delicious quokka and cat themed desserts.
Yeonnam_o
The first cafe I’d like to recommend is Yeonnam_o . The store’s Korean name is adorable. It translates straight to Yeon Nam circle, which means “happy fulfillment of what each person needs and wishes for in their environment.”
They are well-known for their adorable animal-themed cupcakes, which come in quokka, sheep, cat, and bear variants. Other decorated cupcakes, such as snowmen for Christmas, are available depending on the season. You may even buy them in a pack, which is ideal for picnics or as a gift for a friend.
Although the design is the cupcakes’ selling point, I personally believed the taste was worth returning to. You could tell they were handmade since they were so soft and fluffy. If you’re in the Hongdae area, this is a must-visit.

Cafe Monstercat
Cafe Monstercat is the second store I’d like to recommend. The shop specializes in cat-themed drinks and desserts. They even make ice cubes in the shape of cats for their drinks. If you like cats, I believe this is a terrific spot to visit.
I would definitely recommend the cream melon soda, which is a dark green melon soda with vanilla bean and topped with the cutest cat ice cubes. Not only does the drink taste fantastic, but the vibrant color makes it even more unique.
With all of the beautiful interior design that makes you feel like you’re in a storybook, this is definitely a terrific location to come and reminisce about your childhood.

Quokka Coffee
The final cafe I’d like to recommend is Quokka, which is located in Gwangju, which is a bit further away than the previous cafes. Nonetheless, if you like quokkas, this is the cutest animal themed cafe ever! As the name implies, everything from their drinks and sweets to their interior design and packaging is based on quokka themes.
I would really recommend trying their quokka brownies as well as their delicate and fluffy cakes while you’re there. When it comes to hot drinks, their quokka biscuit is the ideal combo. I was particularly taken with their takeaway package. I would definitely recommend sitting outside on the terrace and taking in the beautiful weather.
The best part is that even if you don’t have the time to travel all the way to Gwangju, you can get your own Quokka merch from the Quokka cafe online. You can get your own at-home Quokka coffee set!
