Summer in Korea is here! If you want to have a relaxing summer time by the beach, then pack your bags and head to Busan, the country’s largest port city. Here are some of the best beaches that you must visit when you go to Busan:
Haeundae Beach

First on this list is definitely the Haeundae Beach (해운대해수욕장). This beach is famous among locals and foreign tourists for its beautiful coastline and fine sand. During the summer season and pre-pandemic days, you can see rows of parasols filling the beach seaside. These parasols add color to this nice and long beach that young and adults can enjoy. Moreover, it is also famous for holding various cultural events and festivals all throughout the year before the pandemic happened.

Aside from the beach, you can also spend some time, shop and dine at Haeundae Square, just few walks from the beach. In addition, you can also have a taste of seafood in Busan at the Haeundae Traditional Market.

How to get there
Location: 64, Haeundaehaebyeon-ro, Haeundae-gu, Busan
Directions:
- By Subway: Take Busan Subway Line 2 and get off at Haeundae Station, Exit 5 or 7. Walk for approximately 500 meters.
- By Bus: Take Bus #1003 from the bus stop in front of Busan Station and get off at Haeundae Beach. Estimated travel time is 45 minutes.
Songdo Beach

Also on this list the Songdo Beach which is the first ever public beach in Korea opened in 1913.

After undergoing a 5-year reconstruction and renovation, Songdo Beach is once again one of the favorite go-to beaches of locals and tourists in Busan.

Aside from its fine sand and clear waters, you could also take a walk at the Songdo Cloud Walk, and marvel at the vast ocean through the Songdo overwater cable car. Read more about it here.
How to get there
Location: 50, Songdohaebyeon-ro, Seo-gu, Busan (부산광역시 서구 송도해변로 100)
Directions: Busan Subway Line 1 and get off at Busan Station, Exit 7. From there, take bus No. 17, 26 or 61 and get off at Songdo Entrance Bus Stop.
Gwangalli Beach

Of course, this list wouldn’t be complete without mentioning the Gwangalli Beach (광안리해수욕장). In this beach, you can have a spectacular night view of the Gwangandaegyo Bridge which exhibits bright lights stretching across the horizon.

The seaside is also decorated with different light and structure installations that give a vibrant vibes to the beach at night. There are also a lot of different bars and restaurants near at the beachfront which makes it a favorite hangout place of many people in the city.

How to get there
Location: 219, Gwanganhaebyeon-ro, Suyeong-gu, Busan (부산광역시 수영구 광안해변로 219 (광안동))
Directions: Take Busan Subway Line 2 and get off at Geumryeon Station, Exit 1 or 3. Make a u-turn and turn on the first street toward the beach.
Dadaepo Beach

And last but definitely not the least, is the Dadaepo Beach. This beach is actually made from sands deposited by the Nakdonggang River. Thus, making its water shallow and a wide sand beach suitable for children to enjoy. There are different water activities that you can enjoy at Dadaepo beach such as paddleboarding, kiteboarding and many more.

Aside from the beach, it also has a coastal park and walking paths that are perfect for sight seeing and taking awesome photos. Moreover, the large plaza at the entrance of the beach has the biggest musical floor fountain in the world. This musical fountain operates from late-April to October.

Location: 14, Morundae 1-gil, Saha-gu, Busan (부산광역시 사하구 몰운대1길 14)
Directions: Take Busan Subway and get off at Dadaepo station, Exit 4.
