When talking about Haeundae in Busan, and places to eat, do window shopping, or have a coffee, most people may think of the main street that leads to the beach and the Haeundae Market. While they are the most famous locations to go to, I realized that not many people know the other side of Haeundae. So, this is the first of a series of articles exploring the side of Haeundae behind the old train rails. Today, I will tell you all about one of this area’s hidden gems, The Burger Shop.
Behind the Rails
Right behind the Haeundae Museum, you will find a street full of coffee shops, restaurants, and more. It is an area that is full of colors and the total opposite of the main street. While it is quite a small area, it is worth looking around. Also, it will expand in the future.
Therefore, I jumped on the task to look around and make a series about as many places as I can than are located there. I’ve written about a few other gems in the area before, such as Uno Dos Tacos and Renge Bar. Those articles are what inspired this series. Today, I will tell you about the Burger Shop.
The Burger Shop
The Burger Shop is inspired by American burger restaurants. When you step in and look around, you do not feel like you are in Korea at all. It has a retro style, vibrant vibes, and a cool atmosphere. You will definitely feel like a cool kid when you go there.
The decor includes sports posters, high school chairs and tables, and many more creative things around the store related to burgers. Even their menu has some creativity!
The Menu
Just like their menu says. They do make sexy burgers. Although their menu is simple, it is delicious. Just look at those buns!!!
The meat? The seasoning is perfect! Buns? Softer than anything else on the face of this planet! Fries? Chef’s kiss!
What I loved about the burger, besides the bliss of flavor, is that the bun is not completely cut in half. It is still together at the end of the burger so the rest of the ingredients won’t fall.
So far I have tried the bacon burger and I was surprised to find jalapeños inside of it. However, it wasn’t spicy at all! Their menu consisted of Classic, Cheese, Bacon, and Mexican-style burgers, everything for 11,000 won or below (depending on the burger). If you want a combo, with fries and soda is 5,000 won extra or just the fries for 4,000 won. Plus, if you want a double patty, it is 4,000 won.
Of course, it cannot be a good burger place without sodas and drinks. Their beverage menu includes Jarritos (Mexican soda), apple juice, Pepsi, and beer. For beer, it is mostly Gorilla’s Brewing.
Extra
Just as iconic as this place is, their merch is also gold. They have everything from T-shirts to pens, caps, sweatshirts, and more. You will surely find the perfect souvenir either for yourself or for a loved one.
And for the food, you can either dine in or take out!!
Location
From Exit 2, Haeundae Station (Green Line) you will see the museum, walk towards it, pass it and you will find the shop.
