Behind the Rails Series: Haeridan-Gil Guide

Hello everyone! I am back with another cool place for you to check out in Haeundae, Busan.

Behind the Rails

If you are new to this series, let me give a brief context before I start. I realized that not many people talk or know about the cool area behind the Haeundae Museum, the one located next to the subway station. Over the past few months, I’ve been a bit busy trying various places in the area to write about them and give the place the shine in the spotlight it deserves.

This area is full of both local and foreign food gems, as well as cafes and shops to do some window shopping. And while everyone has different tastes and preferences, I am pretty sure there is something for everyone to like here!

Now, for this article, it is going to be a bit different from what I have previously done. It is a guide of a guide, yes, you read that right. For this article I am going to talk about the Haeridan-gil Guide.

What is Haeridan-gil Tour?

While walking around this area in Haeundae, I found two different establishments with a similar name, one of them a market, and the other a coffee shop. Later on, I saw the making of a sweet bread bakery. After going to the new bakery, a friend of mine told me about the relationship between those 3 places.

The owners are the same for those three businesses. The owners have 4 different places in this area, and they planned for people to take a mini tour around them. Those places are: the bakery, a photo film studio, a market, and a coffee shop. 4 great things for an amazing outing.

They even made a map of how to walk around them!

Duplit Coffee Shop

Your starting point is the Duplit Coffee Shop. Here is where you are going to meet with your friends or just take a moment for yourself and enjoy the music and some alone time. Get a warm drink or a cold one depending on the weather or your preference. You can even work on any stuff you need to get done if you want to.

The coffee shop offers coffee, baked goods, whiskey, and more. Their food menu is mostly brunch and toast. But their drinks and desserts are what make it famous. Especially their beach colada, similar to a piña colada… but make blue. Cute! Isn’t it?

Also, the desserts offered here are butter bread rolls. It comes in cinnamon, corn, garlic, salt, tomato and pesto, beacon and potato, chocolate, blueberry cheese, milk, and cheese. All with some butter in it. If you buy it, they recommend you heat it a bit before eating for a better experience.
