Autumn in Korea: the best spots!

Since Korea is surrounded by mountains, nature is beautiful there and in autumn it reaches its peak.

In autumn, the country is a popular destination for tourists. Especially for those who like mountain walks. They mainly come to enjoy the magnificent flamboyant landscapes that the season brings with it. Let’s explore each one.

Seoraksan

Biryong Waterfall

If you are not athletic, I advise going to the Biryong Waterfall! One of the easiest walks. Only an hour from the main entrance, a relaxing discovery by the water.

Beautiful Nami Island

Nami Island is worth a journey! Accessible by train 2 hours from Seoul, it is an iconic place for all drama fans. Thanks to the excellent “Winter Sonata” for making us discover these magnificent landscapes.

Why explore this small island? Well for starters, the island is only 2 hours from Seoul and due to its small size, one afternoon is more than enough to get around it. you can stroll in the paths and the trees, rent bikes, go boating, observe squirrels … in short, become one with nature.

Nami is near Gapyeong Station, accessible on the Gyeongchun Line of the Seoul Subway.

Secret Jangsado Island

If you have time, head to the north of the country in the Gangwon-do region! An astounding nature which served as the background for the drama “The descendants of the sun”.

If you are in Korea for a longer period, why not go and explore Jangsado Island? Unfortunately, you can’t stay there, but you can still stay overnight in Geoje and take a ferry to get there.

This island has also served as the setting for famous dramas, notably for “My Love from the star” and “Uncontrollably fond”.

Hyewha(Daehangno Street )

And finally, go for a walk in the Hyewha district of Seoul! Student district more affordable than Hongdae which has a nice park: the “Marronnier Park” which often hosts free concerts … Higher up, you can reach the ancient walls that surround Seoul … A sublime view at night!

You can’t miss the Namsan Park in Seoul. For the bravest who dare to walk to the tower, the scenery is worth the effort!
