Arte Museum Ocean Yeosu

This article is dedicated to my experience at Arte Museum Ocean in Yeosu. When you first come to Yeosu, most likely your first destination will be Yeosu Station. And, right next to the station you will find Arte Museum Ocean. At first glance, it looks like an abandoned shopping center. It is a huge building however, few restaurants and shopping kiosks can be found. If you look with a keen eye, you will find the museum’s entrance.

Location

The museum is located on 2 floors and it is pretty tricky to find since the place is so big. If you do manage to eventually find it, it won’t be a waste of your time. The price ticket is 17,000 won for adults and there is a ticket machine right in front, near the entrance. You won’t have a problem buying the tickets and entering the place.

Inside the Museum

When you enter, you will go from room to room. I found it to be quite disorienting. It was like a maze. There was no trace of the sun at all. Only artificial light and illusions filled the space. Make sure to take one of the guide brochures before entering the place. Otherwise, you can easily get lost.

The rooms in the museum are called: Waterfall, Garden, Flower, Underwater, Night safari, Wave, Moon, Wormhole, Star, Jungle, and Beach. As the names imply, each room featured one aspect of mother nature, and it was absolutely beautiful. Each room comes with a neon board explaining the room in both Korean and English.

My favorite area was Star. There, you can take breathtaking pictures for your Instagram. I haven’t been to the museum in Busan, but I wonder if this Yeosu museum shares some similarities with its Busan counterpart. Especially this room star, I think I have seen this room full of magical stars somewhere on Instagram.

Scented rooms

One special thing that I loved about this place, was their brilliant marketing collaborations. The museum teamed up with different scented products!

Each room comes with a different smell, and all of them are amazing. But one room that stood out to me was Garden. The room diffuser there was absolutely amazing. I loved this aspect and it’s truly something you need to visit for in order to experience. At the end of the exhibition, they sold scented candles, room diffusers, and fabric sprays that were represented in each room.

As a business student, I was shocked and amazed by their brilliant idea of marketing. The price is also very affordable, around 7,000 to 15,000 for each scent item. This will be a great gift from Yeosu for friends and family.

Conclusion

Overall, the experience that I had in Yeosu Arte Museum was worth the 17,000 won entry fee. I fell in love with the scent and the magical world that they created. This will be an ideal place to go before your train back home from Yeosu train station.
