Have you ever heard about Anyang Art Park? The Anyang Art park is a recreational park recently renovated by the local municipality. It is located at the foot of Gwanaksan mountain next to Anyang city. The park is a great place for both people that just want to have a leisure walk across nature and people opted for some climbing. Among the facilities in the park artificial waterfall, outdoor stage, exhibition hall, a plaza, walking trails and 52 artworks of famous domestic and foreign artists can be found.
A MAP OF THE PARK
Before heading to the park, I advise you to obtain a map of it. You can get it from one of the tourist information centers in Seoul. It can, also, be found in front of the Anyang pavilion at the beginning of the park just before the artificial waterfall. The map has an English version too. All the places are well marked which makes it very helpful.
LET’S EXPLORE THE PARK
Fountain – part of the art instalations.
The 52 artworks are installed as part of the first Anyang public art project on an international level in connection with park construction project.
The artificial waterfall is located at the beginning of the park and is also part of the art installations. The waterfall works from 17 o’clock, so if you want to see it working it’s good to keep that in mind.
For the people that would like to hike little bit there are several well-developed hiking trails in the vicinity of Anyang Art Park as well as two Buddhist temples: Anyangsa and Yeombulsa. Both of them worth a visit.
These circles of mirrors are also an art installation. You can play with your reflection and take interesting pictures from different angles. This artwork is listed under number 4 on the map.
Anyang Crate house (안양상자집) – dedicated to the lost (Pagoda). The crate house is constructed of empty drinking crates. If you go inside of it, you can see the sunlight shining through the crates.
If you want to make your time at the Anyang Art Park even more fun and to go home with a small souvenir, you can collect a stamp from all the places listed on the map.

Anyang Temple (안양사)
The trail to Anyangsa is extremely easy, not demanding any hike. The temple itself is beautiful and peaceful place.
Yeombulsa Temple (염불사)
Yeombulsa is another Buddhist temple located within the art park but getting there is not as easy as going to Anyangsa. Actually, the path to the temple is quite tiring as the temple is located high in the mountain. But once you reach the temple you will be granted with a splendid view.
Once you reach the temple more stairs are waiting for you in order to be able to have the following view.

HOW TO GET TO ANYANG ART PARK
Anyang park is a great place for a day trip as it is close to Seoul and easily reachable with the metro. To visit the park just take the Seoul subway to Anyang station (안양역) exit 1. It takes around an hour from Seoul. When you leave the station take bus number 2. The bus station is just in front of the exit and get off at the last stop. It is Anyang Art park. In order to go back to the subway station you have to get the same bus from the place you got off. Have fun at the Art Park!
