Where to Live

Accommodation for Hanyang University Students

Hello everyone, In this article I will present to you the wonderful Hanyang Habitat, the place I called home for 5 months as a Hanyang University student. I truly enjoyed living at this accommodation and it was instrumental in making my experience in Korea a positive one. And so, without further ado, let’s explore Hanyang Habitat and how you can apply to live there!

One of the greatest advantages of Hanyang Habitat is its location. Located right in front of the main entrance to the campus, for students in this accommodation, there’s no need for buses or the subway, or even an early start! Class is just a few minutes walk from your home.

Furthermore, the accommodation is only 5 minutes walk from the Hanyang University Station Subway Line 2. The green line 2 is perhaps the best subway line in Seoul as it stops at all the most popular areas: Hongdae, Gangnam, Jamsil, Sinchon etc.

Also found in the surrounding area is many restaurants, cafes and convenience stores. That’s right, 7-Eleven, Starbucks Coffee and McDonalds are all less than 2 minutes walk from Hanyang Habitat. Additionally, it is also close by to Wangsimni, an area popular with young people featuring delicious food, fun bars and shopping.

For me, living in Hanyang Habitat was super convenient and I would recommend it to anyone who is studying at Hanyang. Moreover, I’d recommend it to students from other universities and even people working in Korea!

The privates spaces consist of around twenty single rooms that contain each:

  • 1 open wardrobe
  • a window

  • a small fridge
  • air conditioner

  • free wifi

The price of the room is 750,000 wons per months which is equivalent to around 657$ or 556€.

This room faces towards the main road and the university and is available on both 3rd and 4th floor.

This room faces the surrounding town and is available on both 3rd and 4th floor.

It is a small bedroom but totally sufficient when you study and visit a new country all day ! I really enjoyed my time there, especially thanks to the big window that let a lot of sunlight come into the room and facing the campus. In korea, you eat a lot outside because restaurants are cheap and you can study in cafes so size was perfect for me. If you want to see or invite your friends home, you can have a good time in the living room 🙂
