The Changdeokgung Palace and Secret Garden is one of the most popular sightseeing spots in Seoul. Especially the Secret Garden has got an unique charm and is totally worth a visit! With the change of the seasons, also the mood of the garden changes. Lately Seoul experienced its first snow this winter – of course I had to check out the Secret Garden in this magical condition.
Not only the snow was the reason to get that winter wonderland feeling, also the little pond was frozen and even had snow on the ice surface . Indeed absolutely gorgeous to look at!
Although most of the snow around the city already started to melt, the snow within the garden and on the roof of the palace buildings was still intact. Make sure to book a tour for the Secret Garden in advance though before entering the palace. Otherwise you can’t visit this specific area!

If you ever have the chance to visit this place during winter and snow, I can highly recommend to do so. They’re offering guided tours in English a few times a day!
