When it comes to traveling in cities outside of Seoul, Jeju Island and Busan are at the top of the list. If you have never been there and would like to see travel recommendations about Jeju Island and Busan, do not forget to check out our other posts! Not many foreign travelers are familiar with โYeosuโ (the southern coast of South Jeolla Province). However, itโs quite a popular romantic gateway destination among locals.

After having been back from my 2-day trip from Yeosu, I recommend going here with your loved ones for your next trip!
How to Get to Yeosu from Seoul
There are two main ways you can get to Yeosu from Seoul. The fastest and most convenient way would be by airplane. And for the less expensive option is by KTX. However, since thereโs no direct route by KTX, it might be worth considering paying a little bit extra to save you time and make the most out of your trip.
1. Plane
To travel to Yeosu by plane, you need to go from Gimpo Airport and head to Yeosu Airport. You only need to bring your ARC card as a foreigner, so feel free to leave your passport at home. Airlines available include Jeju Air, Jin Air, and Asiana Airlines. The flight takes about 1 hour.
2. KTX
With no direct route, you have to transfer once at Iksan station. You can directly buy the tickets at Yeoungdengpo station or purchase them at the KTX app. The overall trip takes about 2~3 hours depending on the type of train you choose. Yeosu Expo station is close to the Venezia hotel I recommend below, and it takes only about 15 minutes by walking.

Venezia Hotel & Resort
I booked my stay through Agoda app. Itโs pretty convenient because you can also book your hotel stay, along with the flight in one package. So, there can be a discount fee you can receive, especially if youโve been using the app for some time. What I like about this area is that you can choose from a variety of different hotels and resorts. Because the resorts and other facilities are all concentrated in one area, this makes traveling just more convenient.

If you have taken a flight to come here, you can directly take a bus from the airport to the resort. It might take about 1 hour and depending on the bus availability that day, there can be some delay. Especially during holidays such as Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving Day) or Christmas. I went there just before Christmas and there were a lot of delays with the bus schedule. But it didnโt discourage me, as I eventually got to the resort and had a fun trip overall!
Hotel Room

The standard room also comes with a beautiful view that overlooks the ocean!
Facilities

I made the choice to stay here because of the diverse range of facilities it offers. There are game arcades and gym facilities with incredible views. For those who need a quick exercise in the morning or simply want to enjoy a fun game, just head to the second floor! Or if you feel like you are too tired from all the sightseeing as the day comes to an end, you can take advantage of the massage chair on the first floor (for only about 3,000 Won/15 minutes).

I also opted for the breakfast buffet in the morning, and it was super delicious! There was a diverse range of food options from Korean and other Asian countriesโ cuisines to European-style breakfast!

Things to Do
To get the most out of your trip to Yeosu, I also recommend you to check out its travel site. Below are some of my favorite things to do in Yeosu:
Cable Car Riding
Personally, Iโm a big fan of traveling by the beach and Yeosu lets me do all of my favorite activities such as enjoying seafood delicacy and watching the beautiful sunset view. It was one of the most beautiful views Iโve seen in Korea! Hereโs the general information about Yeosu Maritime Cable Car attraction.
