63 Square, or previously known as 63 Building, is a Yeouido landmark overlooking the Han River in Seoul. 63 Square is also known the name “gold bar” as its golden glasses reflect the sunlight differently in every season. Standing 249 meters high and comprising of 60 floors and three basement levels, 63 Square is one of Korea’s tallest and most recognized buildings.
HIGHLIGHTS
Looking out from the 63 Square Observatory which is located on the 60th floor, you can enjoy a bird’s eye view of Seoul City. The cityscape was absolutely stunning and beautiful. All those tall skyscrapers look incredibly tiny here. Can you see the bridges across the Hangang River?
When the night falls and city lights are lit, you will realize that Seoul city at night is the most beautiful thing! Don’t miss out your opportunity to capture some magical moments.
You can also get some coffee as you enjoy the perfect picture of the beauty of Seoul city. To my surprise, the price of drinks sold here are not overprice, considering it is a popular tourism site.
Besides, there is a Wishing Wall where visitors can write their own wishes down and stick them on the wall.
Located at 264m above sea level on the 60th floor, 63 Art is literally the highest art gallery in the world. 63 Art acts as a cultural space that features quarterly exhibitions from young artists covering a wide range of genres including multimedia and animation. It is a place that should not be miss for every art lover that came to visit Seoul!
As an art gallery closest to the sky, 63 Art is an observatory deck as well. Visitors can enjoy the amazing art works at the gallery alongside with the gorgeous scenery of the Han River.
I got the chance to enjoy the art exhibition entitled TEAMBOTTA 63- BOTANIC EFFECT when I visited 63 Art in the early of November. The art exhibition features multi-sensory experiences from sounds to lights.
Aqua Planet 63 is an aquarium located on basement floor of 63 Square. The 2-floor aquarium is quite big and has a lot to see! The aquarium is consisted of different zones that home many different sea creatures: Water Planet Valley, Otter Planet, Water Planet Garden, Golden Miracle Zone, Penguin Planet, The Magical Mermaid, Coral Planets. The layout and design of each area is very well-planned.
Besides, you can even enjoy the popular “Mermaid Show”, a real-life underwater mermaid performance here.
I would highly recommend this place for families with kids to pay a visit! Visitors can experience the perfect harmony between nature, environment and people here.
Besides, it is also worth mentioning that Aqua Planet 63 is the filming site for the popular Korean drama “Legend of the Blue Sea”.
