Busan is the largest city after Seoul. The city is known for its beautiful beaches, mountains and temples. Usually tourists when they visit Busan, they only check out Haeundae and Gwangalli beaches. However, the city has many other interesting places to visit. I lived in Busan for one year and every now and then I tried to discover the surroundings of the city. Hence today I would like to introduce 3 places to visit when in Busan: Haedong Yonggung Temple, Taejondgae Resort Park and Oryukdo Skywalk.
Haedong Yonggung Temple
Haedong Yonggungsa Templeย is one of the three sacred places related to the Goddess of Buddha of South Korea. Its motto is โat least one of your wishes will be answered here through sincere prayersโ. This temple is one of the ancient temples which attracts a lot of visitors who come to marvel at one of the countryโs only temples by the sea. The temple was a little bit up in the mountain but had a beautiful view on the beach. Which makes is different than other temples I have visited in Korea.
If you are a person who like to watch sunrises, I invite you to visit this temple for a sunrise, it is just beautiful!
Taejongdae Resort Park
Taejongdae is one of the most popular of Busanโs many coastal walkways. The views are spectacular, and there is a variety of sights to enjoy. Taejongdae Resort Park is named after King Taejong Muyeol, the 29th king of the Silla Kingdom. After the three kingdoms were united, the king supposedly loved to practice archery in the park area.
Most of Taejongdae Park consists of evergreen forest, Taejongdae Observatory and Yeongdo Lighthouse for the famed coastal views.
Oryukdo Skywalk
In recent years Oryukdo has become a major attraction among visiting tourists for its death-defying glass skywalk over the sea. The horseshoe-shaped skywalk sits atop a 35-meter cliffs and offers views of Oryukdo Island, which actually consists of 5 small islands. The skywalk is actually small, bu the surrounding area and views are stunning.
