3 Best Winter Activities in Korea

The games might be over, but winter magic and Korea travel adventures never end! Winter in Korea provides many events and opportunities to engage in winter fun; the most inexpensive and easily available winter recreational activities are ice skating and sledding. Hence today I am here to introduce you to three best activities you can enjoy with your family and friends during winter in Korea.

Winter Wonderland in Herb Island

Herb Island Lighting Fesitval features a romantic atmosphere made by beautiful lighting displays. It is comprised of a pink wish tunnel, sparkling buildings, Santa Village, photo zone and other twinkling places for visitors to enjoy. There are many zones inside you can check such as Herb Museum, Herb Garden, International Village, Traditional Market, Nostalgia Zone, Small Zoo.

You can also buy some souvenirs from souvenirs shop and also old school snacks from a small shop. You can tour around the place with the guide map which you can get in the information centre. Which comes in different languages like Korean, English and Chinese. And also do not forget to take tons of pictures for you instagram.

P.S. f you are a K-drama fan, then you will appreciate this place even more. The proposal scene from the famous drama “Oh My Venus” was filmed in Herb Island! The entrance fee for Herb Island is around 9,000 won which is actually affordable.

Winter in Everland – Snow Buster

Located in Yongin, Gyeonggi-do, Everland’s Snow Buster has a wide range of high-speed sledding courses. The park provides a family course, pleasant for even children; the racing course is 120 meters high. You can use the lift to reach the top of the run. Another fun fact, there are heaters installed around the area for riders to warm up when necessary. As Snow Buster is included in the access to Everland, make the most out of your cash and explore the other fun attractions.

The snow buster is open from mid December until early March. The entrance fee costs around 56,000 won for adults and 44,000 won for children.

High 1 Ski Resort

Another beautiful place to check during winter in Korea is High1 Ski Resort. High1 Ski Resort is designed for beginners as well as intermediate and experienced skiers with lifts and ski slopes, offering an enjoyable experience for the entire family. It is also planned to be the nation’s most eco-friendly ski resort. Maintaining the mountain when building the slopes, different edible plants plants are seen in the springs and several wild flowers bloom throughout the summer, making the resort an environmentally attraction throughout the year. At the top of the mountain, 1,340 meters high, the revolving restaurant offers a wonderful panoramic view area with a full rotation every hour.

The ski resort is open from mid November until early April. The entrance fee for a one day pass is 78,000won.
